DJ-1800 supports a range of hardware controllers and software applications via "plug-ins". Plug-ins act as extensions to DJ-1800, containing all of the information DJ-1800 needs to support a controller or application.
DJ-1800 currently supports the following controllers and software applications:

Please note:
Many hardware controllers are labelled to match the DJ software included with the controller. As a result, the labels on the controls may not match the features of DJ-1800.
Because of this, some of the plug-ins below repurpose certain controls for other purposes. For example, DJ-1800 does not have a "scratch" feature, so a scratch wheel might be used to control DJ-1800's "search" wheel instead.
We would strongly recommend that you download the plug-in and documentation before purchasing a particular controller, to find out how that controller works when used with DJ-1800. Full documentation (in PDF format) is included in each of the plug-in ZIP files found below.
For instructions on creating your own plug-ins, please download the DJ-1800 Plug-In API, which contains documentation, plug-in templates and instructions for creating your own plug-ins. The Plug-In API enables you to create plug-ins for any MIDI-compliant device or HID (Human Input Device)-compliant device, as well as creating plug-ins for devices with their own custom drivers. You can also use the Plug-In API to create a custom keyboard plug-in to define your own keyboard mapping.

The Denon DN-HC4500 is a high-spec MIDI controller, which can be used to control either a Denon BU-4500 CD / MP3 player, or a DJ software application such as DJ-1800. The DN-HC4500 also acts as a high-quality four-channel audio interface, providing two additional stereo outputs to your Mac. It has an LCD display with a two-line text display, as well as highly responsive soft rubber buttons, switches and knobs.

for use with DJ software. The DMC2 does not operate as a MIDI device for the Mac, but it is fully supported by DJ-1800 as a hardware controller. The DMC2 is a 3U standard 19" rack-mountable device, which looks and feels just like a dual CD player. It has separate LCD display for players 1 and 2, with track, time and pitch / BPM display.

The iCDX is designed to play music either from a disc loaded into its built-in CD / DVD player or from an external USB flash drive or hard drive. It can also be used to control a DJ software application such as DJ-1800. It has an LCD display and a set of controls suited to controlling one CD Player at a time.
