    News

    Wednesday 9th September 2009 : iTunes 9 and DJ-1800
We have just discovered an issue with DJ-1800 3.2.2 after updating to iTunes 9. This issue causes DJ-1800 v3.2.2 to crash when an iPhone or an iPod Touch is attached, if DJ-1800's "Detect new iPods when they are connected" preference setting is turned on. The issue is caused by a change in the iPhone drivers installed by iTunes 9. This problem does not affect any other users, and all other integration with iTunes 9 seems to be working fine. All other iPods are also unaffected.

We are looking to find a fix for this crash. In the meantime, we recommend that iPhone and iPod Touch users do not upgrade to iTunes 9, or do not connect their device when using DJ-1800 3.2.2.

    Sunday 7th June 2009 : DJ-1800 3.2.2 released
We recently became aware of an issue with DJ-1800 3.2.1 after updating to iTunes 8.2 on Mac OS 10.4. This issue causes DJ-1800 v3.2.1 to crash on launch. The issue is caused by a change in the iPhone drivers installed by iTunes 8.2.

In order to fix this issue for users of Mac OS 10.4, we have released an updated version of DJ-1800. The new release, DJ-1800 v3.2.2, disables iPhone and iPod Touch support in DJ-1800 when running on Mac OS 10.4. This means that iPhone and iPod Touch support in DJ-1800 now requires Mac OS 10.5.

We would recommend that all Mac OS 10.4 users update to DJ-1800 v3.2.2. Mac OS 10.5 users do not need to update to DJ-1800 v3.2.2, and can continue to use DJ-1800 v3.2.1.

DJ-1800 v3.2.2 requires Mac OS 10.4.9 or later and QuickTime 7.3 or later. Download v3.2.2, or take a look at the Release History for a complete list of improvements and updates.

Wednesday 15th October 2008 : DJ-1800 reviewed in MacFormat UK Magazine
MacFormat UK issue 200 features a review of DJ-1800 v3.1, awarding it three and a half stars.

    The review says:

"In this latest version your music libraries load up inside DJ-1800. So whether you're using your Mac's library, or one from an iPod or iPhone, all the tunes appear inside DJ-1800's main interface. This greatly speeds up track selection."

"Using the software to mix a set is easy. We used DJ-1800's virtual mixer and set it up to output through an amp to our speakers - though if you prefer, a range of controller plug-ins are available for using DJ-1800 with USB hardware mixers. A list of compatible hardware can be found on the DJ-1800 web site."

    Tuesday 26th August 2008 : DJ-1800 3.2.1 released
We have just released a minor update to DJ-1800.

This new version implements a workaround for an audio issue on Leopard. This issue only affects Leopard users who have the same device selected for both Master and Cue output, and who also have Pitch Lock turned on.

Previously, starting playback of a second track could cause a short audio dropout on an already-playing track, due to a bug in QuickTime. This is no longer the case as of DJ-1800 v3.2.1.

DJ-1800 v3.2.1 requires Mac OS 10.4.9 or later and QuickTime 7.3 or later. Download v3.2.1, or take a look at the Release History for a complete list of improvements and updates.

MacUser UK has written a glowing review of DJ-1800 v2.1, awarding it four mice.

MacUser UK say: "DJ-1800 works just as well for the club DJ as the radio jockey, and it's a third of the price of its rivals. Frankly, you won't find a better, cheaper professional digital DJ-ing solution."
